Monte Zufelt was born in Farmington New Mexico and relocated to the Sierra Nevada mountains of California at age five. As a musician he moved to southern California at age twenty and stayed there for twenty two years eventually transcending from a musical artist to a sculpture artist.
After college level art study in Orange County he relocated to Colorado at age 42 and continued sculpture study for two more years. Long periods of personal transition and spiritual exploration took place during the several years that he produced his earliest work.
That eventually led to shamanic spiritual retreats in the seclusion of the Amazon rain forests of Peru and the mountains of Colorado on multiple a occasions. There he continued to explore the core teachings of spirituality and the multi dimensional existence of all life. This is now the core inspiration of all of his work which is essentially the translation of his mystical vision quests into the physical reality of sculptural artistry.
He travels regularly to the largest collector shows in the world to personally select the crystals that are incorporated in his work. Inventing unique technology and production procedures as he goes has now produced what he referred to as Light Temples. The sculptural manifestation from worlds beyond worlds of “The Fire That Burns Forever”.
